The walkthrough
The negotiator works the offers against a plan and the coverage, then settles the case and closes out the money. Here is the settlement desk in LitAxis.
01The plan
It starts with a plan, agreed before the first offer: the opening demand, the target and the walk-away. Suggested figures come from the firm's own comparable settlements and this carrier's history, and show how they were derived. The client's settlement authority is recorded too, and LitAxis won't finalize a settlement below it.
02The offers so far
Every demand, offer and counter sits on one timeline, round by round. The negotiator can ask for a suggested counter, based on the plan and the case value.
03Who's on the other side
The adjusters on the claim are listed with every call and email logged against each, so a colleague can pick up mid-negotiation without a briefing.
04How much is collectable
This card compares the limits with the damages, and says whether the file is ready for a time-limited policy-limits demand.
05What the case is worth
The valuation gives the negotiator a range to defend, with its reasoning, and shows how it moved as the file developed.
06Know the carrier
Carrier intelligence is the firm's own record of each carrier: first-offer habits, rounds, and response to tenders. It tells the negotiator how many rounds to expect.
07Settle and close out
When the case settles, the closing statement is built from the same ledger: fee, costs, liens and the client's net. LitAxis warns if the firm would net more than the client.
Offers, authority and money in one place, with the reasoning shown. That's settlement in LitAxis.
