The walkthrough

The demand writer turns a finished file into a demand letter: liability, injuries, specials and the ask, all grounded in the records. Here is how it works in LitAxis.

  1. 01A file ready for demand

The queue is files that just finished treatment. This one arrived from records with its chronology already verified.

  2. 02Start from the chronology

The writer starts from the chronology, not from hundreds of pages. Every visit and finding is verified, and cites the record and page it came from.

  3. 03The specials

The specials come straight from the bills, so the number in the demand is the number in the ledger and the closing statement.

  4. 04What's there to collect

Coverage shapes the ask: the at-fault driver's limits, and the client's own uninsured and underinsured motorist coverage. If specials approach the limit, this becomes a policy-limits demand.

  5. 05Draft the demand

To draft, the writer picks the firm's demand letter recipe. Dates, amounts and coverage are filled from the file and show their source. The narrative sections are drafted by AI, and every section can be edited.

  6. 06The draft, versioned

Each draft is saved as a version. The attorney reviews and edits it in the browser, and can download a PDF.

  7. 07Send it — with a citation check

Before the demand is sent, LitAxis audits the letter's facts against the file and flags anything unsupported, so a wrong date or amount doesn't reach the carrier.

  8. 08Hand off to negotiation

Once the demand is out, the negotiation plan takes over, and the demand writer moves on to the next file.

Drafts grounded in the record, and checked before they're sent. That's demand writing in LitAxis.
