The walkthrough
Medical records specialists request and chase records and bills, then turn them into a medical chronology. Here is how LitAxis handles that work.
01Who to chase today
The day starts with who to chase. Records follow-up calls are queued on the matter, with the provider and the status of each.
02Records arrive
Records arrive by email or portal upload, and are filed on the matter as medical records: the raw material for the chronology.
03The medical chronology
This is the heart of it. AI reads each record into dated entries, with the provider, the finding and the charge, and each entry quotes the page it came from. A person verifies or rejects every entry. Typically, a hand-built chronology takes hours per file; here the work is reviewing, not reading.
04Bills against visits
Bills are reconciled against the visits on record, so a visit with no bill, or a bill with no visit, stands out.
05Specials
Medical expenses are totalled by provider, showing what counts toward specials and what's on a lien. The same totals feed the demand and the closing statement.
06Hand off: a verified chronology
On a finished file, every chronology entry is verified, and the demand writer can draft from it with confidence.
07What the firm learns
Because the records are structured, the firm learns from them: which providers bill what, across the whole caseload.
Records in, a sourced chronology out, and every entry traceable to a page. That's medical records in LitAxis.
