Building the case

Pre-Lit Paralegal

Builds the file — coverage, police reports, records requests, documents — so it's ready for demand.

The walkthrough

The pre-litigation paralegal builds the file: coverage, police reports, records and documents, so the case is ready for a demand. Here is that work in LitAxis.

  1. 01The morning list

The morning starts with open tasks across every pre-lit file, soonest first. It's a long list of small, deadline-driven jobs, all in one place.

  2. 02Open the coverage

Coverage drives everything downstream. Each policy on the case is recorded here with its carrier, policy number and limits, including bodily injury, uninsured motorist and med-pay.

  3. 03Pull facts out of a document

Instead of retyping a police report or a declarations page, the paralegal pastes it in, and AI suggests the parties and coverages to add. Nothing is added without a click.

  4. 04Follow-up calls on the file

Follow-up calls the file needs are queued on the matter: the adjuster for a declarations page, a provider for records. Staff make the calls and log each result on the file.

  5. 05The documents

Every document on the case lives here, in folders and versioned. Records that arrive by email or portal upload land on the matter, and medical records feed the chronology.

  6. 06This file's to-do list

Each matter carries its own task list, and finishing a task here clears it from the firm-wide list too.

  7. 07Hand off: ready for demand

When treatment is finished and the records are in, the file moves stage, and the demand writer picks it up with everything already attached. No email chain.

A complete file, built once and handed off cleanly. That's pre-lit in LitAxis.
